Day 14 (2 weeks!) & 1 year in PDX

Today marks 2 big occasions for the Lysen's: first, Parker is 2 weeks old today and secondly, it marks the first full year Ben's spent living & working out of Portland, OR.

Parker had her second Doctor's Appt. yesterday and we're happy to report that she has gained more than an ounce per day since her last visit! Parker now weighs 9 lbs 5 oz and is 21.25" long! Her doctor says she's very healthy and is clearly a good eater! Parker's sleep habits are becoming fairly consistent. She likes to go to sleep around 12:30 am and wakes up at 3:30 am for a bite to eat and a quick change, then she sleeps some more until 7:30 am when she eats a bit more get another diaper before sleeping until 9 am. She's very peaceful and alert in the mornings and likes to take a nap around mid-day. The evenings for Parker are: eat/sleep/fuss! She's getting stronger and will readily move her head from side to side to check out what's happening and is able to hold her head up longer with less frequent rest-breaks in between. She's got a very good temperament and doesn't cry much at all, just enough to let her Mom & Dad know that she wants something!

On the 1 year in OR: when we think back over that last year and all that's taken place in our lives, we can't help but feel blessed for all that we have, especially the support and love of each other. So, a quick recap of what's happened in the last year.

In June, Ben accepted a position working at the Fred Meyer corporate offices.
We spent the summer preparing for our wedding which took place back in Bellingham, WA on Sept 2nd, 2007.
We spent the week of our honeymoon down in beautiful Zihuatanejo (Zee-wa-ten-a-o), Mexico.
Upon our return, we picked up the newest member of our family, a 9 week old basset hound pup that we named Ralphie.
We also found out, soon after, that another member of our family was on the way! Time to upgrade! We purchased our first home.
We got all ready for Parker Ella Lysen's arrival (on her due date!) of June 13th, 2008!
And now her she is!
A big thank you to all our friends & family members that have nurtured and support us, helping us make the best 12 months of our lives (so far!). We look forward to bigger and better next 12 months with everyone!
