Friday July 4th marked the intersection of multiple events. Little Parker reached 3 weeks old, Ralphie turned 1 year and Mimi (a.k.a. Grandma Lysen) had her 60th birthday. Oh, and the nation decided to celebrate these momentous occasions with fireworks!
We loaded up the car and headed to Lake Tapps (~3 hrs North of Milwaukie, OR). Parker did very well in the car. Lana fed her and immediately put her in her car seat where she promptly fell asleep for 3/4ths of the trip! The weather wasn't the best, but at least it wasn't raining! Parker got to see cousins Mason & Palmer, her Mimi & Papa, Auntie Stephanie, and meet Uncle Raym & Great-Grandma Gerrie for the very first time!

We also found out that Ralphie's 5" legs can float all 60 lbs of him when he went swimming for the 1st time! He rides pretty low in the water! He's not a huge fan, but he's not afraid of the water at all and it's a relief that when we camp we won't have to worry too much about him sinking!
Niether Ralphie nor Parker seemed to be too excited about the fireworks going off in every direction. In fact, Parker slept most of the day (probably tired out from the car ride).
